This Week in Faithworks...
By Dionne Miller Couture...One of the key factors in discovering our purpose in life, is knowing what the Word says about who we are. The Word says ...
... we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). The Message Bible translates the verse to "Body and soul, I am marvelously made!".
... we were made in the image of God, a reflection of Him and His nature (Gen 1:26-28).
... we were created with destiny and purpose - for good works, which He has prepared for us before we were born (Eph 2:10).
... we are far more valuable than we could ever fathom - more valuable than the birds of the air, more valuable than silver or gold (Matt 6:26, 1Peter 1:18-19).
... what is true of Him is true of us, because our old men died with Him and we were raised in the newness of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:34).
... we can live with confidence (Hebrews 10:35) - this confidence comes from knowing who you are in Him, always looking towards Him for approval; plus, there is great reward in this confidence!
Truly knowing in our spirit-man what the Word says about us will lead to a powerful revelation of who God is in our lives. This revelation will in turn lead to a powerful revelation of our purpose in life, because everything finds its purpose in Him. We have to have our minds renewed and transformed so that we can surrender all to Him in order to unlock His purpose for us. Being firmly planted in a House is also a key ingredient to the revelation of your purpose. Please note - being "firmly planted" as opposed to "attending" church. We have to be the Body. He is the Head and we are His body ... all parts, each with their own purpose, working together towards His cause
- the cause of building His Kingdom on Earth.
The
Holy Spirit and the Overcomer.
Having
the spirit of an overcomer enables
us to pursure the purpose of God and
confront challenges and obstacles in
our path. We should not get
caught up on what the Holy spirit
can do for us, but rather focus on
what he can do through us.
By the power of the Holy Spirit
Jesus is building His church,
destined to walk in victory and
empowered with God-given authority.
Over many years we have discovered that as we sow into building the lives of people, the harvest we reap is an increased commitment to build the local Church.
Our commitment is to partner with other local churches around the world to empower them to teach and train believers to impact their community (Ephesians 4:11).
